Peacock Bleu

The dominating force in wedding colors right now appears to be blue, and you know me!  I’ve been researching blues and ran across this awfully boring Wikipedia definition  – I’ve GOT to share it with you …

Blue is a colour, the perception of which is evoked by light having a spectrum dominated by energy with a wavelength of roughly 440–490 nm. It is considered one of the additive primary colours. On a colour wheel based on traditional colour theory (RYB), the complementary colour to blue is considered to be orange (based on the Munsell colour wheel).[2] The English language commonly uses “blue” to refer to any colour from navy blue to cyan. The word itself is derived from the Old French word bleu.

Oh yawn.

There are so many fabulous shades of blue to write about.  I picked this particular shade because I know my brides are thinking about wonderful fall and winter wedding colors right now, and this “bleu” is so deep and rich and lucious, well, just take a look!

Let’s play the “Imagine” game for a bit.  There’s so much you can do with this fabulous color – seriously – can you find one bridesmaid who won’t look simply amazing in this shade of blue?

Hey – maybe you could add a little touch of yesteryear with your theme, with vintage fabrics and accessories?

And how much fun can you have with the invitations using a “peacock” theme?

Go a little “crazy-elegant” with you wedding cake, too – look!

Isn’t this fun?  Want to set the tables?

And the venue?  Well, these might be a bit much, but you have to admit they’re inspiring, no?

You’re going to need a perfect peacock bouquet.  Try these on!

And I shall finish with a flourish, of course.  If you’re truly committed to the peacock theme, then here are your wedding dress ideas!

And a tip, if you’re thinking “Peacock” might be your thing.  You’ll want to keep your favors simple and elegant, and shades of gold go beautifully with this venue.  May I suggest our precious little chair favor boxes?  Just a thought! ;)

Thanks for playing along with the “Imagine” game with me.    Maybe you can take a bit if inspiration away for your Big Day?

All Hail the All-Important Wedding Shoe!   Oh no – these are not just tucked underneath a gown – they’re the icing on the sassy-cake, and if you don’t believe me – ask any sassy-girl on the street!

Brooke, our second June Bride-to-Be here at the office, is the reason I’m thinking about wedding shoes today.  Brooke’s busy picking out the final details for her wedding at a lovely venue in the North Georgia Mountains, and shoes are top of mind for her right now.  We’ve all offered up our opinions, and we’re impatiently waiting for the results!

Brooke’s bridesmaids are wearing a lovely Clover green, and her watermelon-pink accent choice will pull through in the flowers, along with a classy little pop of bright, gerber-daisy orange – how fun!  We’re urging her to find some sharp, hot watermelon-pink shoes – très precious, no?  Let’s see what happens!

Oh!  And you know we’ve already picked out the favors for her bridesmaids luncheon! ;)

Brooke’s wedding photographers, by the way, was kind enough to provide the wonderful wedding photos for this blog post from their online gallery!  You can enjoy Jodi and Shannon’s gorgeous work at luminagephotography.com.

It all started just a few short years ago with a cake.  A Cake Candle Favor, actually.

And what do you know, just a few short years later, we have over 300 fabulous favor choices!

It’s true what they say:  My how time flies when you’re having fun!

You’ll remember our Skip, who’s getting married in June (and is she ever knee-deep in planning right now!).  We were looking through her photographer’s online portfolio the other day, and I particularly noticed all the beautiful pictures of wedding cakes, which of course reminded me of the first favor we ever offered – which gave me an idea!

I thought you might enjoy seeing the cake pictures, too! They’re absolutely, deliciously beautiful, and Pam of Paris Mountain Photography graciously agreed to share some of them with our readers.  If you’d like to see more of her gorgeous work, you can look her up at parismountainphotography.com.  So Enjoy!

By the way – we still have the cutest cake candle favors! ;)

Until next time!

Chandelier Inspirations!

I’m fascinated by chandeliers and that ambiance of old-world glamour and grandeur they bring to a room.  As a matter of fact, part of our 2009 Collection came about because I’m so enthralled with these sparkling crystal creations!

And with all the Vintage inspiration in vogue right now, chandeliers just go hand in hand with setting the mood for the moment!

From the palace at Versailles to the lobby of your local bank, chandeliers delight and fascinate all who pass underneath.  Seriously, have you ever not been impressed when you walk into a room with a beautiful chandelier centerpiece?

And I’m not the only one that loves a good chandelier – did you know that there’s a very popular blog online that ONLY talks about chandeliers?  It’s sponsored by the Schonbeck group, a major designer/manufacturer of beautiful chandeliers, and it’s an interesting read if you have the time.  Keyword search “schonbeck blog” and you’ll find the link.

Brides this year are enjoying the sweeping drama of rhinestone, chandelier-style earrings to enhance and add special sparking to their special day! :)

The “Euro-Flaire” combination of brushed bronzes, silvers and matte gold inspired our new Fleur de List place card holders and bottle stoppers – Vive la France!

And don’t these chandelier invitations go perfectly with the theme?

Indoor or out, these fabulous crystal light-treats set an exquisite tone for any venue!

And as you may suspect, we’ve added a few crystal touches to our new offices!  (I apologize for the grainy photos – I’m not a professional photographer - LOL!)

I hope you’ve enjoyed learning a little more about the inspiration behind some of our new products!  Please do leave a comment if you’d like to know more about the inspiration behind some of our other adorable favors!
