In Love with Lilac

We’ve said it before and we know you already know – we love lilac!  Lilac and silver, lilac and rich chocolate, lilac and white – but right now – we’re all about lilac and summer brides!

With a color so fresh, it’s almost cooling – lilac mixes naturally with wild flowers currently in bloom, hydrangea, peony – almost anything you can dream up.

And here’s a little drink recipe for your signature lilac wedding cocktail - The Black Orchid:

Ingredients Per Cocktail: 1-1/4 parts orange-flavored vodka, 3/4 parts crème de violette, 3/4 parts lemon juice, 1/2 parts simple syrup, 1 dash peach bitters or orange
bitters, 1 edible orchid or violet flower for garnish

Preparation: In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add all ingredients. Shake vigorously until outside of shaker is frosted and beaded with sweat. Strain into martini cocktail glass and garnish with flower.

And your perfect lilac wedding favors?

Why any of them, actually.  Pick your favorite – our personality favors have some gorgeous ideas in lilac hues, OR – get this!  You can order personalized tags in your lovely lilac color!

(Of course, if you’re not a Lilac Lady, we have all other popular wedding colors available, too!)

Happy Planning!

Will it be fuchsia POP or fuchsia POW for you, missy?

Dab a hint into your wedding flair, or go all out, you really can’t go wrong with fuchsia – it simply BEGS to be paired with a whole world of exciting colors!

“Go big or go home.” favored quote from Miss Lacey here at the office

Fuchsia is pink, with an infusion of  purple – sometimes a lot, sometimes a little.  But no matter how hue-specific you get, fuchsia makes a bold statement.  If you commit to the  fuchsia POW, you’re showing off your adventurous personality and your dauntless style!

“Excuse me?  Fuchsia and WHAT?” overheard in the lobby the other day

Well, there’s navy, lime green, purple, brown, black, ivory, yellow – pick your favorite and make your statement with a fun-fuchsia POP.

“Polish off your black and white” clever suggestion in a brainstorming session

“And what,” you might ask, “is Kate’s favorite fuchsia flourish?”

Oh that’s sooooo easy!

No, I’m not sneezing – I just love this color!  It’s not ivory, not off-white, not beige – it’s just beautiful ecru and it blends well with rich tones, contrasts beautifully with black (yes, really), and also stands elegantly right on it’s own.

I guess it’s the richness and the vintage flair ecru brings to an event that so fascinates me.

Hope you enjoyed the ecru treat!  Happy planning!

Burgundy, claret, merlot – whatever you want to call it, they’re all the rich colors  of red wines – which are really hot this time of year!

Our new friend, Lynsey up in North Carolina is amazing – she just got married herself, and is busy planning a bridal shower and a bachelorette party for her brother’s fiance, Taylor.  Yes!  She’s using our favors for both, and she’s generously agreed to share the details with all of you later so stay tuned!

Taylor’s wedding colors are wine and ivory – which is what set my mind on this lovely shade.  Look what I came up with!

Yummy colors!

Oh!  And here’s a picture of the new Mrs. Lynsey at her very recent wedding – isn’t she a doll?

I’m looking forward to all the details of Lynsey’s plans for Miss Taylor!
