No, I’m not sneezing – I just love this color!  It’s not ivory, not off-white, not beige – it’s just beautiful ecru and it blends well with rich tones, contrasts beautifully with black (yes, really), and also stands elegantly right on it’s own.

I guess it’s the richness and the vintage flair ecru brings to an event that so fascinates me.

Hope you enjoyed the ecru treat!  Happy planning!

Burgundy, claret, merlot – whatever you want to call it, they’re all the rich colors  of red wines – which are really hot this time of year!

Our new friend, Lynsey up in North Carolina is amazing – she just got married herself, and is busy planning a bridal shower and a bachelorette party for her brother’s fiance, Taylor.  Yes!  She’s using our favors for both, and she’s generously agreed to share the details with all of you later so stay tuned!

Taylor’s wedding colors are wine and ivory – which is what set my mind on this lovely shade.  Look what I came up with!

Yummy colors!

Oh!  And here’s a picture of the new Mrs. Lynsey at her very recent wedding – isn’t she a doll?

I’m looking forward to all the details of Lynsey’s plans for Miss Taylor!

And it is soooooo sassy!

redwedfinal

Passionate but playful, red is the traditional color for a Chinese wedding.  Red is associated with strength and determination.  Red is emotionally intense.  Red is the color of  love.

Do I see red in your wedding?  Yes?  Then send us a picture!  We’d love to share!

It’s all in the details …

Brooke’s pictures are in – yes!  I’m so excited to finally share the joy of our other June bride with you!

Brooke and Trent chose a beautiful destination venue in the North Georgia mountains at Waters Mill.  Waters Mill is quite the unique event facility, created around the dreams and memories of an ancestral family farm in the rolling green hills (under a clear blue sky – truly – this place is ethereal!).

An excellent choice for an outdoor June wedding – and I must say, the venue was exquisitely enhanced by the bride’s personal attention to the details!

Hot pink and green were the theme colors du jour  - with exciting pops of bright orange and oh was that ever just exquisitely lovely in the rolling green countryside?

After the wedding, guests adjourned to tables under ancient oak trees with delightful, cold beverages and some of the best lobster-stuffed mushrooms I’ve ever had in my life!  (shh…I embarrassed myself I had so many)   And once the wedding party joined us in the dining room, the celebration began.

It was so much fun – there were family and kids and music and dancing and delicious food, perfect entertainment and did you catch the favors on the tables?  Look familiar?  LOL!

Please join us all in wishing the newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Trent Plott, a bright and wonderful future together!  We love you guys!

Peacock Bleu

The dominating force in wedding colors right now appears to be blue, and you know me!  I’ve been researching blues and ran across this awfully boring Wikipedia definition  – I’ve GOT to share it with you …

Blue is a colour, the perception of which is evoked by light having a spectrum dominated by energy with a wavelength of roughly 440–490 nm. It is considered one of the additive primary colours. On a colour wheel based on traditional colour theory (RYB), the complementary colour to blue is considered to be orange (based on the Munsell colour wheel).[2] The English language commonly uses “blue” to refer to any colour from navy blue to cyan. The word itself is derived from the Old French word bleu.

Oh yawn.

There are so many fabulous shades of blue to write about.  I picked this particular shade because I know my brides are thinking about wonderful fall and winter wedding colors right now, and this “bleu” is so deep and rich and lucious, well, just take a look!

Let’s play the “Imagine” game for a bit.  There’s so much you can do with this fabulous color – seriously – can you find one bridesmaid who won’t look simply amazing in this shade of blue?

Hey – maybe you could add a little touch of yesteryear with your theme, with vintage fabrics and accessories?

And how much fun can you have with the invitations using a “peacock” theme?

Go a little “crazy-elegant” with you wedding cake, too – look!

Isn’t this fun?  Want to set the tables?

And the venue?  Well, these might be a bit much, but you have to admit they’re inspiring, no?

You’re going to need a perfect peacock bouquet.  Try these on!

And I shall finish with a flourish, of course.  If you’re truly committed to the peacock theme, then here are your wedding dress ideas!

And a tip, if you’re thinking “Peacock” might be your thing.  You’ll want to keep your favors simple and elegant, and shades of gold go beautifully with this venue.  May I suggest our precious little chair favor boxes?  Just a thought! ;)

Thanks for playing along with the “Imagine” game with me.    Maybe you can take a bit if inspiration away for your Big Day?
