In January, we launched the “Make it Mine” Collection, featuring 3 already popular favors that are now available in white packaging with plenty of personalization options. We have taken the step by step instructions from our previous blog post and made an instructional video for you, demonstrating how to personalize the 3 items!

Hosting a Halloween party? Build a candy buffet! This spin on traditional trick-or treating is fun for kids and adults too! A candy buffet is the perfect backdrop for your party and is a fun way for guests to pick their own treats to take home.

Follow these easy steps for a Kate Aspen style candy buffet:

1. Select a color palette: many retailers now offer candy separated by color, specifically for these popular dessert displays.  For Halloween, we stuck to orange, black, white, and natural wood.

2. Select your candy: Small candies fit perfectly into treat containers.  We recommend a variety of shapes and flavors.  Try candy corn, gumballs, chocolate nonpareils with orange sprinkles, small lollipops, Reese’s Pieces, “eyeball” chocolates, hard candies, etc.

3. Select your display pieces: Household products and DIY projects lend themselves very well to your tablescape.  Apothecary jars, vases, platters, cake stands and serving utensils can be used and staged at varying heights to build an impressive display.

•We used a natural wood cutting board to add height and apothecary jars to hold the candy.  We also incorporated Kate Aspen “Damask Traditions” Frosted Glass Tea Light Holders on a small tray and surrounded them with candy corn to add some light and color.  Finally, a “spider web” was stretched across our existing artwork to set the spooky scene.

4. Select your favor jars: We recommend Kate Aspen “Vintage” Personalized Milk Favor Jars in the “traditions” design.  From weddings to Halloween, this is the perfect giveaway!

Happy planning!

Are you in search of a perfect wedding color but haven’t decided on one yet? Try one of Pantone’s featured colors for this fall – Rhapsody Purple! Don’t you just love the name? This dusty shade of purple is popping up in lots of weddings and can be seen being used in almost everything from flowers, to dresses, and even cakes. The color adds just the right amount of romance and elegance to a wedding.

You can pair the purple with almost any color, depending on the mood you are going for. How about some ivory, light greens, or silver for a bit of subtle sophistication? If you want something more dramatic, use other purples in both darker and lighter shades to get that extra punch. Add a personal touch to your reception by giving away these “Vintage” Personalized Milk Favor Jars by Kate Aspen to your guests. They’ll enjoy the sweet little treat.

Any way you look at it, this fashionable purple is the way to go. Accent your wardrobe or invitations with it. Match your table décor with things like Kate Aspen’s “Skylights” white, Openwork Mini Lantern or their very popular glass favor jars for an extra bit of charm. Dress it up or dress it down – you can’t go wrong with Rhapsody Purple.

Happy planning!

A Wedding Worth Its Weight in Gold

Metallics are fiery hot this season—silver, bronze, platinum, copper and gold—shining, shimmering and so darn dazzling, your guests might have to wear shades! If you want to go for the gold, I have a few winning ways to put the pedal to the metal—a cliché that gives me the perfect place to start—your wedding shoes.

Fancy Footwear

Just stepping on the aisle speeds you toward a whole new life. Even if you wear a traditional white wedding gown, it’s easy to flash a glimmer of gold as you strut to the altar. Take a look at these toe-toppers!

A Gilded Gown

It’s all about you, you know! If you want to strike wedding gold, get a gown with some glitter. Do you really want to see jaws drop? Go with a gold gown from top to bottom. To meld metal with tradition, look for a white or ivory gown with gold Swarovski crystals or gold bead accents on the bodice and/or the skirt. Add gold-and-diamond jewelry or wear a tiara or hair combs with some gold here and there. Ask your make-up designer to highlight your eyes with shimmering gold. When it comes to the golden touch, you decide where and how—save-the-date cards, invitations, your bouquet!

Treasures on the Table

The beauty of gold is that it goes well with virtually any color you choose to pair it with. Black and gold, white and gold—both classics in wedding reception table décor! Partner trending wedding colors with gold to see which duo takes your breath away.

A Favor with Flair

Show guests you and your groom have a heart of gold! Thank them with stunning favors that give them a little gold of their own to take home.  Here’s where Kate Aspen shines! One of these three favors—the Mini Gold Chair Favor Box, “Beautifully Beaded” Gold Place Card/Photo Holder, and the spectacular “Golden Brocade” Photo Coasters—is all you need to complete your golden moment!.
