Whoa girl! If you have trouble with heights, this venue might not be for you. But read on – you may be delightfully surprised!

Are you looking for an intimate location for your wedding – something small, with just a few close friends and family?  Well then, we have a special wedding inspiration just for you! What about small, intimate, and spectacular?

Yes, we’re talking about saying “eye do” in London – right there on the London Eye.  How fabulous is that?

The London Eye Company, a division of the Merlin Entertainments Group, makes it possible for happy couples to “tie the knot” about 450 feet in the English air over London – what a beautiful backdrop for your vows!

A professional wedding coordinator works with you to select and decorate your private “capsule” on The Eye, which will hold you and your intended plus up to 19 guests. At the peak of the first magnificent rotation (which takes about 15 minutes to reach), while your capsule is at the very top – you are officially pronounced man and wife.  Talk about perfect timing! Champagne corks pop on the way back down and the toasts begin.

Your second rotation is time for celebration, more champagne, and photographs.  If you like, you can add canapes and finger foods to the party. Here’s a delicious at a bit of their menu:

Canapés Sample Menu

  • Sugar cured salmon with orange aioli
  • Minted crab & cucumber cup
  • Ballontine of chicken with sundried tomato & herbs on a roasted garlic croûte
  • Courgette, sunblushed tomato, rocket and ricotta wrap
  • Confit white onion, crème fraîche & pesto tarts

So what are you waiting for?  Study up on the details at the website (where you’ll also find contact information and all the extra goodies available to make your wedding absolute perfection!)  Then, book a package deal on British Airways, gather up your family and friends, then whisk away to tie the knot in spectacular fashion on the London Eye – with memories to last a lifetime!

And of course we have the perfect wedding favors to mark the occasion!

Happy Planning!

In Love with Lilac

We’ve said it before and we know you already know – we love lilac!  Lilac and silver, lilac and rich chocolate, lilac and white – but right now – we’re all about lilac and summer brides!

With a color so fresh, it’s almost cooling – lilac mixes naturally with wild flowers currently in bloom, hydrangea, peony – almost anything you can dream up.

And here’s a little drink recipe for your signature lilac wedding cocktail - The Black Orchid:

Ingredients Per Cocktail: 1-1/4 parts orange-flavored vodka, 3/4 parts crème de violette, 3/4 parts lemon juice, 1/2 parts simple syrup, 1 dash peach bitters or orange
bitters, 1 edible orchid or violet flower for garnish

Preparation: In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add all ingredients. Shake vigorously until outside of shaker is frosted and beaded with sweat. Strain into martini cocktail glass and garnish with flower.

And your perfect lilac wedding favors?

Why any of them, actually.  Pick your favorite – our personality favors have some gorgeous ideas in lilac hues, OR – get this!  You can order personalized tags in your lovely lilac color!

(Of course, if you’re not a Lilac Lady, we have all other popular wedding colors available, too!)

Eastern-Inspired Wedding Favors

Oh it’s SO exquisite and one of these days we’ll get there.  Promise!  The Taj Mahal is a symbol of enduring love.  Begun in 1633 as a memorial to a queen who died in childbirth, the world has never seen another building with so much powerful emotion expressed within its walls.

The finely detailed art of the far east inspired our “Imperial” wedding favor collection.  Just recently we added the “Lucky Elephant” bookmark, with a silken tassel “tail” dangling flirtatiously from the cleverly designed gift box.  We thought you might enjoy musing for a moment about how you can mix and match, and add a little far-eastern inspiration to your wedding favors.

With good wishes for your wedding day-to-come!

Wedding Favors with a History

You see it everywhere, whether it registers in your mind or not.  In luminous stained-glass windows, above the top rail of exquisite iron fences, the fleur-de-lis symbol graces architecture, textile and design.

We’re fascinated with the multi-cultural symbolism of this flower-inspired emblem.  Though it’s origin isn’t known, the fleur de lis (or fleur de lys – your choice), seems to have been around since early civilization, first appearing as a decoration in ancient Mesopotamia (kind of rings a bell from high school history class-doesn’t it?)

The literal French translation is “flower of the lily,” and it is probably an abstract version of an iris. The iris, in “flower-speak”, symbolises faith, wisdom, and promise in love.

The fleur de lis embellished the sheilds, by the way, of knights as they rode into battle to protect their castles and their damsels - how romantic!

It’s never been officially adopted by any of the French republics, but the fleur de lis remains a symbol of France, even appearing on French postage stamps.  Florence, Italy and Schlieren, Switzerland consider it a symbol of their cities, too, and it appears on the King of Spain’s coat of arms. Even modern-day Quebec and New Orleans consider it the hallmark of their charming cities!

From ancient Mesopotamia to today, the fleur de lis stands as a symbol of love, virtue, loyalty and honor.  How perfect for your wedding!

Keepsake Favors

Okay.  You asked for it. So at the risk of sounding like an advertisement, we’re going to give you some more keepsake favor ideas.

Oh! For those of you who didn’t ask-our brides let us know what they want. They want favors that (and we’re quoting here) “won’t stay behind on the table.”

We’ll start from the left top corner this time and move clockwise around the happy couple pic (kinda gorgeous, isn’t it?)

(1)A little photo album – use the place card on the front to mark the spot, then fill the album with pictures of your happy-couple selves starting with childhood, and leading up to your engagement photo.  (2)Bookmarks.  Need we say more? Everyone needs a bookmark – and we have lots of different styles! (3) Freshly scented guest soaps. Always welcome! (4) This one’s really cute and useful – and in this instance, just plan on one per couple. (5) Bottle openers – there’s always that one bottle hanging around… (6)Luggage tags, an all-time favorite. (7) Scented travel candles - personalized! (8) Far easier to re-cork the wine and much cuter, too! (9) Salt and pepper shakers (your guests are guaranteed to “oooh” and “ahhh”) (10) Tea infusers-really, really cute ones.

You know we know the next question already. And the answer is yes! You can add personalized stickers or tags to the favors – we make the colors of the rainbow possible for you. Pick your style, pick your color, and make it yours.  You’re welcome!

Happy Planning!
